Education @ New Zealand

Considered to be a lifestyle superpower, New Zealand offers the double benefit of quality education coupled with good immigration opportunities after completion of the program. New Zealand education is characterized as innovative, modern, practical, and truly world class, and the country is home to some world class institutions like University of Auckland, Massey University and Auckland University of Technology.

From green farmlands to stunning beaches, and majestic snow covered mountains, NZ deserves its reputation for some of the world’s most beautiful natural environments. NZ is similar in size to UK or Japan but has a population of just over 4 million. Most of the Kiwis live in cities and are well known for their friendliness, creativity and independence.

The NZ industry is vibrant, and some of the dominant industries are Information Technology, Business Services sector including Banking & Insurance, Tourism, Advertising, Marketing & Sales, Food Processing, and Machinery & Equipment Manufacturing. As per a 2006 report, 74% of the labour force in NZ was involved in the Services sector, 19% in industry and 7% in agriculture. Some of the well known and prominent organizations operating in NZ are Toll NZ, Westpac, Fonterra, DataCom, Vodafone, Farmers, Fisher & Paykel, Fletcher Construction etc.

Students can work 20 hours per week while studying, and are eligible for a 1 year Job search work permit after course completion. NZ offers a transparent and easy process of immigration where you gain essential points for studying in NZ.

One key benefit of studying in New Zealand at the undergraduate level is that you do not need to essentially enroll for a 3 to 4 year program. Instead, you can initially opt for a 1 year diploma and then make decisions about staying longer once you have completed that diploma. The one year New Zealand diplomas also come with the same immigration benefits as their undergraduate programs - including the 1 year job search visa and associated immigration points.

The NZ Immigration Department regularly releases a comprehensive list of the skills the country is looking for and some of them include ICT Professionals, Engineers, Early Childhood School teachers, Chefs, Multimedia Designers etc.

So if you are keen on settling abroad, you sure should make a beeline for NZ!
